Pero como para la mayoría de nosotras, el salir del armario para Willey también fue un proceso de aceptación de sí misma. Uno que se le complicó especialmente, porque no fue ella quien decidió cuál era el momento en el que estaba preparada para salir del armario públicamente.

De hecho, aunque nos parezca que lleva toda la vida fuera del armario, la actriz no había hablando jamás de su homosexualidad con los medios cuando se estrenó la primera temporada de Orange Is The New Black. Así se lo confirmó Wiley en un podcast esta semana.

Apenas el año pasado se casó con su ahora esposa Lauren Morelli y su trabajo como activista LGBT le ha valido el reconocimiento Vito Russo de GLAAD a la visibilidad.
Pero el camino ha sido largo y una de las cosas que más le ha ayudado a asentarse en sí misma ha sido precisamente interpretar a uno de los personajes lésbicos más queridos de la televisión: Poussey Washington.
