Fletcher está promocionando su nuevo álbum «In Search of the Antidote» y acaba de lanzar su nuevo sencillo titulado Pretending con el que quiere volver a conquistar nuestros corazones.
Y no va desencaminada, porque si hay algo que siempre ha caracterizado a la cantante norteamericana son sus letras intensas con las que nos encanta identificarnos a todas las mujeres que amamos a otras mujeres. «Pretending» no es una excepción, de hecho es la canción que vas a querer escuchar cuando te vuelves a encontrar con esa chica con la que terminaste pero por la que todavía sientes muchas cosas. Así que te la pasas escondiendo tus sentimientos, mientras en el fondo te preguntas qué pasaría si no lo hicieras.
Esto es lo que le contó Fletcher a Entertainment Tonight Online respecto a lo que estaba pensando cuando escribió la canción.
Este es un álbum muy real, muy personal, y esta es también una canción muy personal. Es una canción que escribí para mí. La escribí pensando… Creo que sintiendo esta especie de pensamiento en tu mente en el que estas pensando en alguien y te preguntas ¿seremos nosotras? ¿Vamos a ser esas personas que vuelvan a estar juntas? Y estamos simplemente jugando a fingir que, ya sabes, fingir que estamos bien hasta ese momento. Así que sentarme con ese idea, con toda esa sensación y lo que te traen esos sentimientos y de eso se trata la canción.
Como ya es habitual en ella, Fletcher ha acompañado la canción con un videoclip que estamos seguras te encantará. Con Isabella Lalonde como protagonista, la cantante representa perfectamente ese sentimiento de desear algo que está «tan lejos y tan cerca» al mismo tiempo. Y ¿qué chica no se ha sentido así alguna vez?
